MaySOLDMay 16, 2005 at 3:50 pm AST by Rodney MacLeod
Well I just sold the first car I owned. A 94 blue Hyundai Excel. I drove that car for about nine years. It was kind of sad watching someone else drive away in my old car. I remember backing over a rebar and putting a hole in my bumper, Kent hanging out the trunk to take a picture of the under side of the car while I drove down the highway, many road trips to Fredericton, flat tires, dead batteries, leaking oil, frozen locks.
What can I say about my car? I drove it. That’s about it. There was nothing too exciting about it. It never won any races. It never saved any lives. It got me where I wanted to go (most of the time), and that’s good enough for me.
I may miss it a little, but not to much. I now drive a 2005 Mazda 3.
Posted by PAUL MAC on May 17, 2005 at 12:19 am ASTGood work Rod. I remember when I sold my first car, it was a turning point in my life. Do you care to share with us how much you got for it? You don't have to if you don't want to.
And who are the crazy people?
Posted by Kent MacLeod on May 17, 2005 at 4:20 pm ASTHey Rod.
I remember you backing over the rebar too. I also remember the picture of your car you posted too. I think if you would have left the tape on your car it would have sold for double. Remeber the homemade license plate you made. I think its the one in the picture too.If Dennis is reading this, remember the gum I put on your car? Was it still there when you sold it? Man I rock!

Posted by Kent MacLeod on May 18, 2005 at 10:56 am ASTHey Dennis, you probably could have got double the value for your car if you would have told the buyers that the gum mark was mine.
