Replies (11) Near Death ExperiencesMarch 10, 2005 at 11:33 am AST by Rodney MacLeodI have had a few near death experiences. Well maybe they are not all that close, but I like to think I have cheated death a couple of times.
One of my most memorable was a failed attempt at cliff jumping. There is a place called Sea Cow Head on PEI where many people go to cliff jump. I have a cousin that lived down the road from this cliff and took me a little ways down from the main cliff to a place I believe they called The Bee Hive. The tide was out, but there was still a fair amount of water at the base of the cliff, but you did have to jump out a few feet, because there were rocks right at the foot of the cliff. My cousin had made a few jumps while I sized up the situation.

Crest kid. I don’t think I was too meticulous about my dental health. Every morning I brushed my teeth, some nights I brushed them, never flossed, and regularly went to the dentist for check ups and fluorides. With that regiment I managed to stave off cavities for at least 25 years.

CBC the Canadian Union of Public employees is going to Charlottetown city council to argue in favour of vandal proof parking meters instead of the kiosks that the city just installed. Maybe there is more to it, but their argument seems to be that people have a tough time figuring out the new machines.
They are new machines. It is natural that some people will have a harder time figuring it out than other, but after one or two times using them, most people will know what they are doing. I do realise that some people do catch on to new technology more easily than others, but that is true with everything. Most everybody now has a microwave oven, VCR and/or DVD players, all of which are more complicated than a parking kiosk. These people learned how to use these machines, they will learn the kiosk.
