JuneAlias, A.K.A. NicknameJune 14, 2005 at 1:16 pm AST by Rodney MacLeodMost everyone had a nickname at one time or another for one reason or another. Sometimes it is because of the way you look, or something you do. Sometimes it is a shorten version of your name, or you are just know by your last name. Sometimes you receive it because of you place in the family, or maybe your place in Society. Sometimes these names last along time, sometimes they are forgotten rather and sometimes the name becomes so used that people forget your really name all together.
Well I have had a few nicknames growing up. Some of them I liked others I was not too keen on. Sometimes it was only one person that called me that name. Mostly it was only one group of people that knew me by a certain nick name. Some of those names have even stuck around and I still have people call me by them.
Well here is list of nicknames that I have had through out my life.
Rod: I guess the most popular and self explanatory.
HotRod: Probably the second most popular and again just a play on my name.
Little Austin: I use to work at Canadian Tire where my father also worked. His Name was Austin and some people there dubbed me Little Austin.
Little Fred: Another name picked up at Canadian Tire. This one was short lived. Fred was the custodian at Canadian Tire and I was filling in for him while he was on vacation one summer.
Spike: This name I got at Canadian Tire also, but it was one of those names that only one person called me. Eric gave me the name after I got a buzz cut.
One Eye Willy: There were a few people in school, but not many that called me this. If you know I have only one eye, then it makes sense.
Willy: I am pretty sure that this one is just a shorten version of One Eye Willy. I think there was only one guy that called me this and I think he only called me it because he did not know my real name.
One Eye: A variation on One Eye Willy.
Candyass: I did or said something stupid and some one called me this. I was positive it was because I had a sweet ass though.
Bobby Fischer: Not sure why, but Frank sometimes calls me this and he is the only one.
Glasseyerod: One of my favourites. Jay Phillips started this one as far as I know. This one was also inspired by my glass eye. He and a few of his friends called me this. I liked it and it became my hotmail address and eventually my domain for this site.
Rodney River: Recently we have been playing texas holdem at our place. I have developed a reputation of winning hands on the river card.
If you know me, did I leave any out? Feel free to share your own nicknames

I guess that was more of an alternate personality than a nick name.. But it might still work.

Posted by pacific poker on December 9, 2005 at 4:31 am ASTJust to retain relevance to Paul's comments I will mention that this was a great big long comment which was a link for some poker site. I finally decided to edit it because I just realised that I built in that feature on this blog.
