JulyGameCube vs. X-box vs. PS2July 20, 2004 at 4:22 pm AST by Rodney MacLeod
A friend of mine recently purchased an X-box. We drove around town for a while checking out the prices of different systems and settled on an X-box for $199 at
Future Shop it came with a start up kit (which is just a second control pad). Then we went to
Zellers and bought a 2 controller pack for $39. The only other X-box deal we could find was at some video game store in the Charlottetown Mall. They had and X-box with Tetris and Star Wars: The Clones Wars for $199. Probably a better deal than at future shop, but he was not interested in the Star Wars game.
I am pretty sure this discussion goes on all the time, but which system do you prefer? If I were to buy a system I am pretty sure I would stick with Nintendo and get a GameCube. I choose GameCube solely because of 3 games: Zelda, Mario Kart, and Mario Golf. I have loved the Zelda games so far, and am looking for to playing the latest. Now the other 2 games are the big ones, They are the games that would keep me playing my GameCube. After I finish playing Zelda I will probably sell it or forget about it, because I usually get bored with a game after it is completed, but now with Mario Golf and Kart. The N64 versions are great and I still play both of them fairly often. Mario Kart and Golf are great multi player games that are different everytime you play them, and they are simple enough that you can have some competion from new comers in multiplayer mode. My second choice would have to be the X-box because of the hard drive, although the controllers are a bit awkward.
Well since my friend left his X-box here for the night I think will go play a Halo for a little bit.

I own the system as well as Zelda(WindWaker) which is a great game even though it is a bit kiddish. I also own Mariokart which is awesome, and look forward to getting golf and also tennis when it comes out. there is a new Zelda game in the works that is supposed to be more aimed at adult players, thank god. I can't seem to find many other good one player games for gamecube though, any suggestions??
