Spider-Man 2
July 5, 2004 at 1:24 pm AST by Rodney MacLeod

I did go see SpiderMan 2 Friday afternoon and I am excited to go see it again. So far it is my favourite comic book movie made. The fight scenes with Doc Ock are incredible. There were some really cheesey scenes, but these were consistant with comic book dialogue. The CGI was better than the first movie, I actually forgot that half of the time Spider-Man was computer generated. I loved the way they did Doctor Octopus. Spiderman is one of my favourite comic book characters, but I do not know much about Doc Ock, so I do not know how acuated they made him. Whether Doc Ock was acurate to comics I loved him anyways.

The only thing that I did not really like about the movie was when Peter gives up being Spider-Man. I knew this was going to happen, and I know he tried many times in comic books, but I think they went a little too far with it in the movie. I think if you saw the movie you know what I am talking about, so I will not spoil that part of the movie for you.

On a side note the old animated Spider-Man series is out on DVD for around $50 us. Check it out here.

I haven't seen the movie yet, so i'm not making any judgements here, but just a "what if?"
I was checking Spider 2 on IMDB and noticed some of the other actors that were considered for the role of Doc Ock and was rather dissoppointed that one of these actors didn't have the part (i'm assuming they turned it down??) They are: Sam Neill, Robert De Niro, Ed Harris, Chris Cooper and Christopher Walken. Remember, I haven't seen the movie yet, so I can't give an opinion on how Alfred Molina performed, he does have quite an extensive resume with a lot of small roles in some good movies. Does anyone think that any of these actors could have done a better job??

I would have thought a few of them especially Sam Neill would have been better for the part, but after seeing the movie I do think Alfred Molina was the perfect choice. That is one thing that I have likedabout the Spider-Man movies so far. The casting has been right on for pretty much every part.

I can't believe I haven't seen this yet. I'll try to make it this weekend if I can get the time. And I have VERY high expectations, so I hope I wont be dissappointed =)
